Versatile Property in Abrud, Alba County
With a "golden" history, Abrud has culture and history in its fiber. The locality developed within the perimeter of the Daco-Roman settlement "Abruttus," where in 106 AD, Emperor Trajan stationed a Roman legion to exploit the mines in the area. Over time, the evolution of the locality was linked to the exploitation of precious metal, which brought it privileges and, implicitly, contributed to the early economic and cultural development of the city: in 1357 it obtained urban privileges, in 1427 it became a "town," and in 1491 it was a "free city." Starting from the 18th century, Abrud played an important role in the Romanian national emancipation movement.
Added to this is the location of the city in the center of the Apuseni Mountains, in the Abrud Depression, an area dominated by rolling relief, with easy access to the natural paradise of the mountains, with rock formations, waterfalls, and green forests. Abrud is one of the ends of Transapusena, the spectacular route that crosses Tara Motilor. Access is also easy to other important centers: Alba-Iulia at 60 km, Cluj-Napoca at 120 km, Apuseni National Park at 30 km, 50 km from Arieseni (the resort with a ski slope), 50 km from Scarisoara (the cave with the largest underground glacier in Romania), 11 km from Rosia Montana (Mining Museum, Alburnus Maior Fortress).
